Nestled on the northern shores of Lake Erie, a new cottage was rebuilt fitting to the style and feel of its original.
Tucker Construction worked with the owner and designer to suit the needs of a modern family with a waterfront getaway feel. A large space in the centre of the home was designed for communal gatherings of friends and family, set between the kitchen and living room. Hand-scraped hardwood floors are featured as soon as you enter through the front door. A large space situated directly facing the water has large windows to bring in plenty of natural light. The bathroom is really the feature room of the home, complete with both mosaic and subway tiles, a large soaker tub and walk-in shower with glass door and elegant tile decoration.
The existing cottage was taken down to the foundation and construction began with new framing. Building on lots on Lake Erie can come with significant challenges with building footprints and septic systems. Working with the existing foundation we were able to rebuild a new cottage that met the current septic, footprint and setback requirements.
