Vision

Our vision is to transform this 1960s bungalow into a timeless family home that feels both rooted and refreshed. The goal is to preserve the home’s original charm while reimagining it for modern living—where light, space, and comfort come together effortlessly. We envision a home that grows with the family, offering welcoming spaces that encourage connection, relaxation, and everyday joy. It’s about creating a lasting sense of home—warm, functional, and designed for the way families live today.

Design

The design brings this vision to life through a thoughtful balance of architecture, material, and flow. The interior opens up into a bright, airy space defined by a vaulted ceiling and large windows at both the front and back—inviting natural light throughout the day.

An open-concept plan connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas, with the fireplace and kitchen serving as focal points for gathering. The design celebrates simplicity and craftsmanship—clean lines, warm textures, and natural finishes that evoke comfort and authenticity.

Below, the finished basement extends the home’s livable space, creating a flexible family area for movie nights, play, and quiet retreat. Every design choice supports the home’s rhythm of daily life—beautiful, functional, and made to endure.

Key Challenges

Transforming this mid-century bungalow came with several structural and mechanical challenges. The outdated heating system required full removal to make way for a modern forced-air system—necessitating the conversion of the existing crawlspace for proper installation.

Reworking the original roof structure was another major undertaking, allowing us to introduce vaulted ceilings and achieve the open-concept floor plan central to the design vision. Each challenge demanded creative problem-solving and precise execution to bring new life and functionality to the home while respecting its original character.
